Celebrating the 27th Annual Physio Fit Run!Saturday, May 13, 2017

The Physio Fit Run was established in 1990 for one promote Fitness and Health at a grassroots level in a Fun atmosphere!  Student participation has always also been a major focus inspiring the three School Awards presented annually.  The School Challenge Award, School Spirit Award, School on the Move Award.  The original inspiration came from participation in the Vancouver Sun Run at a time when local races were not as popular as they are today.  The race has grown from 75 participants to 1800 in the 90’s prior to the explosion of races and has settled at 800-1000 participants.  A charitable component has also been incorporated over the years with the Manitoba Riding for the Disabled and current charity of choice.  Race day is very exciting with mascots, amazing random prizes, and giveaways on the course, T-shirts for participants and more recently.....medals!   Yes we now have bling!

This event is open to all ageas and volunteers are always welcome!!!

Another successful Biking to the Viking...

Since 2003 Quarry Physiotherapy has been actively involved in the fight to cure Multiple Sclerosis. Each year Quarry Physiotherapy enters a cycling team geared towards raising money for the Biking to the Viking event. To date we have raised over $150,000 cycling the 170km course from Stonewall to Gimli and then back again. Thank you to all that made a donation. Every little bit counts!

Quarry Physiotherapy also donates our services setting up a first aid and massage clinic following the first leg. Participants are welcome to receive a complimentary post cycle massage from one of our many physiotherapists or massage therapist volunteers. This year over 200 massages were performed for free by our dedicated staff and student volunteers!! A special Thank You to Beth Gutkin Roy and Myles Willis for coordinating this huge undertaking. They did a fabulous job!!

Thank you to all that participated. It was another successful year!

Quarry Physiotherapy is proud to sponsor one of its own...

Scott Allan, physiotherapist completed the 7 day Trans Rockies Mountain Bike Race in August 2009. Over 600 kms of Rocky Mountain terrain climbing on average over 2000 meters per day amongst 600 competitors kept him and his partner Phil Roadley from Bikes and Beyond busy.

Scott with the help of family, friends, patients and colleagues raised over $6,500 for the Arthritis Society Joints in Motion charity from the event.
